Number of disabled people who can’t find a job is increasing

While unemployment has remained largely static – figures released today suggest the proportion of disabled people who want a job, but cannot get one – is increasing.

The government has reiterated its commitment to getting the long-term unemployed back to work ahead of plans to reform the welfare system that will be announced in the coming weeks.

People living with disabilities say that more support is needed to enable access to work – rather than cuts to employment schemes.
